A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CHOCTAW CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL WARRIORS BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING 1998-1999 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE STATE AA CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Choctaw Central High School Warriors Boys Basketball Team completed the 1998-1999 season with an outstanding 28-9 record, which culminated in winning the State AA Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Warriors' awesome season included victories at the District and Regional levels as well as second place in the Meridian Frazier-Yarborough Invitational Tournament; and

WHEREAS, the Warriors were ably coached by Walter Wilson and Assistant Coach Henry Bell, Jr., who fine-tuned the athletic skills and team effort of each player; and

WHEREAS, the following outstanding players on the Warriors received honors designation on the AA All-State Team: James Denson, Fabian Tubby and Jackie Stokes; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this fine group of student athletes whose school has a longstanding tradition of championship tournament performance, and who continue to bring honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Choctaw Central High School Warriors Boys Basketball Team for its outstanding 1998-1999 season and for winning the State AA Tournament Championship, and wish them continued success in their athletic, academic and career endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be presented to Coach Wilson, the Principal of Choctaw Central High School and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
